As the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes were looking to get into field goal range for a potential game winning field goal Saturday night, Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning exploited a loophole in the rulebook that gave Oregon an advantage in the game's waning seconds.

The NCAA is closing the loophole used by Oregon to shave time off the game clock at the end of Saturday's win over Ohio State, when the Ducks intentionally used 12 players on defense.

The NCAA issued a rules interpretation that will allow offenses to reset clock if 12 or more defenders participate in a play late in a half.
