For the first time since he and the late Eddie Einhorn bought the team in 1981, Jerry Reinsdorf has been linked to a possible sale of the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox majority owner Jerry Reinsdorf is open to selling the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, according to The Athletic. The 88-year-old bought the White Sox for about US$20 million in 1981, making him the second-longest owner in MLB behind the Steinbrenner family, who acquired the New York Yankees in 1973.

Chicago White Sox fans understandably are itching for new ownership, but should keep in mind that Nashville is over seven hours away.
