In Q2, Netflix added 8.05 million net paid customers in Q2, bringing its global base to 277.65 million. For the July-September quarter, the company reported revenue of $9.56 billion (up 17%) and net income of $2.15 billion (versus $1.49 billion a year ago), translating to earnings per share of $4.88.

Netflix shares popped 2.4% in after-hours trading on Thursday as the streamer beat Wall Street expectations for its third quarter of 2024, with its profits surging 41% year over year to $2.36 billion and revenue up 15% to $9.83 billion. Net income: $2.36 billion, up 41% year over year, compared to $1.68 billion a year ago.

Netflix reported its third-quarter earnings Thursday, adding 5 million subscribers as its status as subscription streaming TV’s dominant platform remains unchallenged.

Netflix execs fielded the question on the minds of most investors (though definitely not subscribers): When do they plan to raise prices in the U.S.?

Analysts expect Netflix to post solid Q3 2024 results, and some believe price hikes are coming as the company looks to drive revenue growth.
