India's Tata Consumer Products reported second-quarter profit above estimates on Friday, as the salt-to-spices maker benefited from higher demand for its packaged food amid a pickup in rural demand.

Wipro, India's fourth-largest software company, posted higher-than-expected second-quarter revenue on Thursday, helped by a revival in spending by its clients in the U.S. communications sector. The company's consolidated revenue fell 1% to 223.

Gross revenue stood at Rs 22,300 crore, marking a 1.5% increase quarter-on-quarter and a 1% decline year-on-year. IT services segment revenue reached $2,660.1 million, up 1.3% QoQ and down 2% YoY.

Wipro posted its earnings for the quarter ended September on Thursday evening after market close. What Happened: Wipro posted a consolidated net profit of ₹3,208.8 crore, a 21% jump from the ₹2,646 crore net profit posted in the same quarter last year.
