Voters in Missouri, Alaska and California will vote on minimum wage hikes next month. Massachusetts and Arizona have proposals on the ballot to alter tipped worker wages. Alaska and Missouri voters will also consider paid sick leave proposals.

Question 5 would require that all tipped employees in Massachusetts earn at least $15 an hour before tips, by 2029. The current system allows some workers — servers, bartenders, and hairdressers among them — to be paid $6.75 an hour, provided that tips make up the difference.

Voters in three states, Missouri, Nebraska and Alaska, will go to the polls in November and vote on a key issue: paid sick leave for workers.
