The coroner's office has identified a 16-year-old killed in a head-on crash in Butler County Thursday. Two vehicles collided around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning on a stretch of West Elkton Road, a 20 minute drive north of Hamilton.

The teens were students in the Preble Shawnee Local Schools district. The other driver was a teacher in Edgewood City Schools.

The Butler County Coroner identified Wyatt Duckworth, 16, as the victim of a head-on crash; the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to the crash in the 6700 block of West Elkton Road in Wayne Township, officials said.

The 16-year-old driver of the Pontiac died from his injuries on the scene. The teen’s passenger, a 13-year-old girl, was flown to Dayton Children’s Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. The Chevrolet’s driver, identified as a 60-year-old man, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
